The story of coffee has always been an inextricable journey of two protagonists: the coffee plantation and those who cultivate it.
The process of coffee itself is pure alchemy. Machines are built to extract its elixir. Beans are roasted in accord with secret recipes. Coffee houses precisely monitor the water temperature and grind. It’s a journey that always begins and ends in the same place - in someone’s hands.
In collaboration with La Marzocco and Leica, I traveled to the Songwa Coffee plantation, an isolated coffee plantation in the Rift Valley, where the metamorphosis of a single bean begins.
